Stanley Herring, MD is transitioning from his long-time role as a team physician for the Seattle Seahawks while continuing as a physician for the Seattle Mariners. A respected expert in sports concussion clinical care, education and advocacy, Dr. Herring was a principle member in the effort to successfully pass the Zackery Lystedt Law in Washington State and worked with a broad coalition to help pass similar youth concussion laws in all 50 states and the District of Columbia. He is a member the NCAA Concussion Task Force and an author of the Berlin Consensus Statement on Concussion in Sport. Dr. Herring is a Senior Medical Advisor to the UW Medicine Sports Health & Safety Institute, Medical Director of Sports, Spine and Orthopedic Health for UW Medicine, and a clinical professor in the departments of Rehabilitation, Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine and Neurological Surgery at the University of Washington.
