MEASURING FOR SIZE AND FIT

A great fitting helmet is essential for player comfort and protection. For optimal fit, follow the instructions below or watch this fitting help video.

STEP 1: HOW TO MEASURE FOR APPROPRIATE HELMET SIZE

Using a tape measure, find the player’s head circumference in inches. Ensure the tape measure is positioned one inch (1”) above the brow line and a half inch (1/2”) above the ears, and along the longest point on the back of the head. The tape measure should lightly contact the head. Tightening the tape measure too much can result in a sizing error. If the player has thicker hair, compress the tape measure until feeling the hair ‘push back’ or create resistance. Use the circumference to identify the player’s shell size in the table. If the measurement lands between helmet sizes, then size up.

STEP 2: ADJUST DLTA FIT PODS

The ZERO2 helmet will arrive with a standard set of DLTA fit pods installed. Pods are available in a variety of thicknesses. To install, guide the triangular snap post into the corresponding hole and press until you hear a definitive “snap.” To begin the custom fit process, REMOVE the jaw pads.

STEP 3: CUSTOMIZE FIT

Have the player wear the ZERO2 helmet and pull it down over the ears to a snug, secure position. The front should rest approximately 1” above the eyebrows, with the facemask nose-bar in line with the widest part of the player’s nose. Players should begin the fit process with hair in their typical style. Check initial fit by rotating the helmet left and right, then up and down while the player holds his head still. The helmet should be snug but not uncomfortable. Adjust the pods accordingly to attain a snug, secure fit.

STEP 4: ADD JAW PADS

The ZERO2 helmet will arrive with jaw pads installed and extras in a variety of thicknesses. Choose a thickness which feels snug against the player’s face and flush with the jaw, without pushing too forcefully onto the cheeks. In the event additional jaw pads are necessary, you can order some here on vicis.com.

STEP 5: CHINSTRAP ATTACHMENT

Instruct the player to hold the chinstrap firmly on his chin, then adjust and attach the straps to the helmet, starting with the upper straps. There should be no slack on any of the straps.
